Mode, a Layer 2 network within the Optimism Superchain, launched its mainnet in January 2024. In preparation for their $MODE token launch in May 2024, Mode aimed to recognize and incentivize meaningful contributors within its ecosystem to determine airdrop distribution for users. The OpenBlock platform was used to build a points program that strategically allocates financial incentives to support the chain’s ecosystem health. Mode Points function as a measure to recognize and incentivize meaningful contributors within the Mode ecosystem. These points encompass a variety of actions, such as being an early adopter, owning assets on Mode, providing liquidity, engaging with different protocols, and bringing network participants through a referral program.
By balancing both macro and micro-level considerations, OpenBlock models based on fine-tuned incentive methodologies were able to recommend incentive allocation changes to high-performing verticals, protocols, assets, and pools.
The flexibility built into the model allows it to adapt to changes in the DeFi landscape, aligning with both short-term and long-term growth objectives.
